The Best Decor Trends of 2021

The saying is “Home is not a place, it's a feeling”.  So because we have spent so much time at home lately, we are either loving it more than ever, or realising that it needs a little upgrade! Well there are plenty of new trends around this year, so let’s take a look at the hottest decor trends of 2021.

Nature and plants

The interior trends promise one thing in 2021: Back to basics. Spicing up various rooms with fresh plants has long been part of the standard inventory of decor trends. However, the green trend stands out this year with two attributes: It will be clean and minimalist. Pampas grass, wheat grass or even lavender - it couldn't be easier. Plants will never go out of style, so adding a little extra pizazz will take your style even further. Cacti and succulents are also on the list! Succulents and cacti have long been popular, but they have one important characteristic: They do not require a lot of care. They are ideal as beginner plants. But you shouldn't ignore them, because succulents and cacti should also be kept healthy and fresh. You can place them on top of your new dresser or coffee table. If you need some inspiration for new furniture, take a look at Richard Haworth. Orchids are also among the houseplants that are particularly easy to care for. They draw the moisture they need from the air through their roots and only need a little water - watering them with a sip of water once a week is enough. Orchids like mineral water best.

Wall decoration

Bare walls are out - we want something to discover! It doesn't matter whether it's pictures from your past vacation, pictures of friends and family or funny snapshots - beautiful wall decorations are very trendy. You may want to look at a canvas with a beautiful print on. Or perhaps a mirror. If you can bring your walls to life, then it will automatically look stylish. If you don’t like artwork, then turn your focus to wallpaper. A feature wall with floral or geometric wallpaper can look impressive.

These are the feel good colours for 2021

Beige and cream are still on trend. On the other hand, energetic and cheerful colours are also of great popularity. Every year, the Pantone Color Institute has chosen the trend colors of the year in 2021:

Ultimate Gray - A gentle shade of gray

Illuminating - Bright yellow

The yellow shade has a wonderfully cheerful effect and is just bubbling over with energy. It is reminiscent of days with bright sunshine. You can easily bring this colour into your home with yellow flowers like tulips and daffodils. But also colored vases, candles, pillows and blankets in the bright yellow shade provide feelgood splashes of color in your home. The sight of the yellow accessories puts you in a good mood and automatically makes you feel like spring - even if the view outside is not really spring-like. Grey is a toned down colour which offers a cosiness. Add grey cushions and blankets for added style
