4 Quick and Easy Ways to Spruce Up Your Living Space

4 Quick and Easy Ways to Spruce Up Your Living Space

A home will always be a work in progress. Trends change, personal style preferences adapt and children grow older.

Whether you have just moved into a new property, or have lived in your home for a while, there comes a point when you feel the need to make a few changes. It is not always feasible to completely renovate your home, and there isn’t always the need to either.

There are many simple things you can do, to spruce up your living space and completely transform your home, without breaking the bank.

#1 Change the ambiance with lighting

Lighting has the power to completely transform the look, feel, and mood of a room. Depending on what your current lighting is, there are many other options you can choose from, for example:

  • Yellow, low lights and candles for a cozy living space

  • Bright, LED lights for a clean spacious living area

  • Colored lights for a family home to make things more interesting

  • Antique lamps for retro-style decor

  • Strip lights for a modern feel

#2 Freshen up the paint

The power of a fresh coat of paint should never be underestimated. Whether you are opting for the same color to freshen up the walls, or completely new colors, paint can transform the design completely. You can make a whole weekend of it and paint your living space with your family, or you can opt for painting services to get the job done nicely.

#3 Add small accessories around your home

You don’t have to replace all your current decor or furniture to refresh your space. You could simply swap around your current decor, or purchase a few small items to add to the space. Accessories are a simple, inexpensive, and effective way to add the finishing touches to any room. For example, you could decorate a mirror, or place one in a different room to open it up more, nail some macrame ropes with plants to the ceiling, or hang some new artwork (which you can make yourself!)

#4 Upcycle furniture

If new furniture is something you are after but don’t want to pay out too much for it, then upcycling may be the best option for you. Upcycling is a huge trend at the moment, which not only allows for self-expression and creativity but is also great for the environment by reducing waste and supporting your local community. Upcycling means you can take any old item of furniture, either items that you want to get rid of, or perhaps are being given away by those in your local community, and transform it into something unique. The special thing about upcycling is that you create something you cannot purchase anywhere else, you can personalize it to your style and decor, and even get the whole family involved!

There are many quick and easy ways to spruce up your home that don’t require breaking the bank. You just need to think outside the box and allow your creative juices to flow. There is plenty of inspiration online to help spark some ideas.
