Spring Rugs
I don’t know about you, but I love changing out my rugs seasonally. Adding a new rug is such an easy way to create a big impact, and the change of pattern and color in the room can make it feel like new. So, I decided to change up the front room for Spring, by adding two new rugs and layering them for some added depth, color and texture. I go back and forth in this room from layering to not and I love both looks for different reasons. I decided to go with two rugs from Unique Looms to refresh this space for Spring.
I decided to go with a 9x12 Jute Rug with a light pattern for the bottom rug. I also loved the fringe on the ends. The pattern wasn’t too bold so it didn’t take away from the top one, but it still allowed a slight mix of patterns. It was also an amazing price. When layering two rugs with patterns, make sure it is a big enough space, like a living room or den, with taller ceilings. I find that if the space is too small it can look cluttered. or overwhelming. This is my favorite room to layer rugs in, due to the high ceilings and open space.
For the top rug I wanted to bring in blue for Spring and when I saw the shade of blue mixed with the pattern , I knew it was perfect. When mixing patterns you have to make sure the colors also work together, and I loved the look of these two.
Layering rugs can be so fun, whether you are into neutrals, pastels, bold colors, you can do it. No matter your style too, if you aren’t as bohemian, you can make it more neutral with calmer patterns for a completely different look. Just make sure the two patterns compliment each other and the base rug goes beyond the line of furniture. So have fun and enjoy layering those rugs!
Cheers!
