The Most Effective Ways to Makeover Your Home Exterior
I am so excited because this summer we are focusing on the exterior of our home FINALLY. Like I said before, homes take time and the exterior was always something we put on the back burner. However, I have never felt the interior of our home matched the exterior. I mean our house is painted poop brown ha and our gate is falling apart. Well we finally saved enough money to start painting and fixing things woo hoo!
The exterior of your home is the first thing that either you or anyone else notices about it. You might spend most of your time inside your home, but even strangers can see the outside of it when they walk or drive by. Your neighbors could spend more time looking at your home's exterior than you do. While not everyone worries what the neighbors think, it's still nice to be able to admire your house when you leave it or return home, as well as when you're spending time at home. These exterior remodel ideas could refresh your home and have a big impact.
Painting or Installing Siding
If you think that your house requires a facelift, updating the exterior finish could be the right choice. There are various ways that you can achieve this, and even help your home to look brand new again. You might consider adding siding to your house, for example. Vinyl siding is a popular option because it's durable, and it can help to protect your home from both sun and rain, so long as you look after it and use a good siding repair service when needed. You might also consider painting your home, which can be a good way to refresh an older home that is starting to look a little worn down. The image below is inspiration for the look we are going for when we paint this summer.
New Doors or Windows
While we did replace all of the windows when we moved in we definitely need new doors, especially a front door. Your doors and windows are noticeable features of your home's exterior. Replacing them or perhaps just fixing them up can help your home to look a lot smarter. You can make it more affordable to add new windows with 24-month no interest financing on new windows, as replacing all your windows at once can get expensive. You possibly only have two exterior doors to replace, which might cost less. Another possibility to consider is whether repainting your doors and window frames could give them a new look if you don't want to replace them.
Adding a Porch
I would love to one day extend our front yard with a porch. A porch can be a great feature to add to your home or to replace or update if you want to improve an existing one. It can give you a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the outdoors, and there are even ways to add some extra privacy if you don't want to be too overlooked by neighbors and passersby. There are lots of things that you can do with a porch, whether you leave it as an open space for welcoming visitors or you turn it into an outdoor living area, and you can explore different styles too.
Landscaping
This is the one thing we have yet to tackle and to be honest, it probably isn’t in the budget for this year. However, one day I want to re landscape our entire home. Landscaping around your house is another good way to improve your home's exterior. No matter how much land you have around your house, you can do something with it. You might landscape your front yard or backyard, or even make use of space at the sides of your house. There are lots of possibilities for landscaping, depending on what you want out of your exterior space. You might focus on plants and flowers, or you might prefer to focus on hardscaping.
When you need to give your home a new look, you have a choice of how you want to refresh the exterior to match your goals. Stay tuned for progress of our exterior.
Cheers!
