Upgrade the Style of Your Home Without Breaking the Bank

Upgrade the Style of Your Home Without Breaking the Bank

Over time our homes being to lose their luster. They no longers inspire us in the way they once did. This means that we begin to feel a little down, and our sense of wellbeing begins to suffer. However, it does not have to be that way. Even if you are not in a position to make huge upgrades, there are many simpler and just as effective ways to transform your home and reignite that sense of inspiration.

Flooring

This may sound expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. Firstly, by upgrading flooring, you are changing something that anyone coming into the home will notice. Most people do glance downwards upon entering a house, so this is a worthy investment. Fortunately, there are quite a few low-cost ways of upgrading your flooring, like laminate planking and sheet flooring. You could look to have carpets professionally cleaned by carpet cleaners. You could even look at sand down the floors and revarnish them. Any of these will spruce up the floor and make it look new again, without costing a fortune.

A New Paint Job

Paint is a DIY lover’s best friend. It is relatively inexpensive, and it can cover up a multitude of sins and mishaps, creating a much fresher and newer look. You can also use the color of the paint to create a feeling you are after. If calming is your thing, then choose calming colors. If you want more inspiration, perhaps choose bright electric colors. You do not have to paint all the walls the same color either. You could even think about having stencils or decals put on the wall to satisfy that artistic bent. Paint can be used on masonry, furniture, metal frames, doors, so think bigger than the walls and ceiling when it comes to a new paint job.

Artwork

It may be an idea to create a gallery wall of images you like. Alternatively, you could stick to individual pieces. You can generally pick up some artwork or request a print onto canvas relatively inexpensively. So, look around for any images that give you that inspiration you are lacking.

Handles

Perhaps replacing all the doors is not something you can do right now, well why not buy some new handles instead. They can generally spruce up the door and make it appear new, even though it is not. You could also think about upgrading other fixtures such as light switches or taps too.

Deep Clean

Just getting rid of all the gunk and grime that has built up in some areas of your home can really make things appear fresher and newer. Deep Cleaning will also help you get rid of a lot of junk and rubbish you really do not need. It is amazing how better tiling looks after the bleach has got to work on the mortar. Additionally, by getting rid of the rubbish and clutter during a deep clean, you can keep the house tidier and neater, and it also makes it appear more spacious too.
